She is passionate about making intricate actuarial concepts accessible, believing the best solutions emerge when everyone can contribute meaningfully to problem solving.

DanChap

Dan Chapman

Dan Chapman (MMath, 2020) is an Actuary at First Actuarial. Dan joined First Actuarial’s actuarial team as a graduate in 2020 on completion of his MMath degree. Since then, he has worked on a wide range of projects in relation to Defined Benefit pension schemes, including liability valuations, member benefit calculations and scheme data projects. He has recently signed out his first two pieces of company advice to employers regarding their pension accounting requirements.

Dan became a fully qualified actuary in 2025, and what he has enjoyed most since then is combining technical actuarial work with consulting - helping clients to solve problems and translating difficult concepts into something clear and actionable. This has involved an increased attendance at client meetings.

Dan is also a member of First Actuarial’s Financial Assumptions Working Group and is the lead in his office for First Actuarial’s in-house valuation system.
