Integrated Masters dissertation marking process - your views?

Two years ago we implemented changes to the administrative aspects of the marking process and grid for Integrated Masters dissertations:

  1. Workflow
  • We created an online form (https://forms.office.com/e/i4GzqhVC5V) where you can enter your mark, comments and feedback to the student, all in one place, and also upload the marking grid, eliminating the need to enter marks via Moodle.
  • The ownership form was added to the marking grid sheet to eliminate the additional file.
  • Templates and guidance are available on Moodle (page “Statistics Integrated Masters Projects…”) replacing the need for keeping track of email attachments.
  1. Marking grid: (OLD versionLink opens in a new window, NEW versionLink opens in a new window)
  • The number of words was reduced (from 1327 to 896 words in the main part).
  • The number of criteria for applied and theoretical projects was harmonised.
  1. Guidance for feedback to students
  • Five examples relating to hypothetical dissertations by the famous five were created and made available via Moodle.

We would be grateful to hear if these changes worked for you. Please answer the questions below. This survey is anonymous. There is also room for you to give reasons and additional suggestions. Thank you very much :-)
