Awards

Prizes for best contributed talk and poster will be awarded based on quality, originality, and importance of the presented research by a committee made up of Organisers with feedback from Discussants. We are very pleased to acknowledge sponsorship of j-ISBA for the Best Poster Prizes in Theory & Methods and in Applications of $250 each.

Thanks to the generous support of ISBA, we have a number of travel awards to support young researchers. Please indicate if you would like to be consider for a travel award in the abstract submission form (deadline 26 March 2018).

Best Talk Awards:

Theory and Methods: Cecilia Balocchi (University of Pennsylvania) for her talk on "Bayesian Spatial Clustering with Particle Optimization: Crime in Philadelphia."

Methods and Applications: Kristian Brock (University of Birmingham) for his talk on "A Phase II Clinical Trial with Efficacy and Toxicity Outcomes and Baseline Covariates."

Honourable Mention in Theory and Methods: Gemma Moran (University of Pennsylvania) for her talk on "Spike-and-Slab Lasso Biclustering."

Honourable Mention in Methods and Applications: Björn Schrinski (University of Duisburg-Essen) for his talk on "Towards Bayesian hypothesis testing of macrorealistic modifications of quantum mechanics."

Best Poster Awards:

Methods and Applications: Maxime Rischard (Harvard University) for his poster on "Do house prices jump across school district lines in NYC? A Bayesian nonparametric approach to Geographic Discontinuity Designs."

Honourable Mention in Theory and Methods: Leah South (Queensland University of Technology) for her poster on "Unbiased and Consistent Nested Sampling via Sequential Monte Carlo."
