Marco Palma

I have moved to the MRC Biostatistics Unit of the University of Cambridge! Please check my new institutional webpage.

I have submitted my PhD thesis in Statistics, done under the supervision of Dr Julia BrettschneiderLink opens in a new window (Warwick), Prof Thomas NicholsLink opens in a new window (Oxford Big Data Institute) and Dr Shahin TavakoliLink opens in a new window (University of Geneva). I am part of a joint CDT program between the University of Oxford and the University of Warwick called OxWaSPLink opens in a new window.

Before coming to Warwick, I earned a double bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Bologna (Italy) and the University of Glasgow (UK), then a master’s degree from the University of Bologna.

Research interests

I am interested in the development of statistical methods for the analysis of neuroimaging data. The analysis of brain scans represents nowadays a challenge for statisticians due to the inherent high dimensionality and the internal spatial structure. From a theoretical point of view, I am currently modelling these aspects using functional data analysis.
