Viktor Stoyanov
I am a first-year PhD student at the Statistics Department CDT at the University of Warwick. My research interests lie in Discrete Probability; in particular in Percolation Theory and Interacting Particle Systems, e.g. the Contact Process. I am also interested in applications of Algebra in the study of Probability and Markov Processes.
Before the PhD, I completed an Integrated Masters in Mathematics & Statistics, also at the University of Warwick (2021-2025). My Master's dissertation was titled "Problems in Percolation Theory", and was supervised by Dr Daniel ValesinLink opens in a new window.
Outside of academia, I also play chess. I am currently ranked in the top 100 chess players in England, and earned the FIDE Master (FM) title in 2023, after obtaining a rating of over 2300.
