Hello, I'm Sally. I work at a large comprehensive in Warwickshire (11-18) and have been at this school for the past 8 years, so I guess I must like it here! I have taken on many different roles but for some reason I have never been a PGCE mentor. I am looking forward to the new challenges that will present as it will give me the opportunity to reflect on my own work within the school.

Hello All
Welcombe Hills is an all age Special school including a nursery and sixth form located in a residential area of Stratford upon Avon. 190 students are on role and the children are valued as individuals with differing skills, talents and needs. We endeavour to provide a supportive environment which allows each pupil to grow towards their full potential and create a school which is happy, safe, caring and positive. We want our pupils to be able to engage in their learning, develop transferrable skills and become equipped for life beyond school. Every pupil at WHS has an idiosyncratic approach to learning with pupils following differing curriculums dependent on their needs and learning styles. We build on individuals strengths and interests and focus on developing the key skills of communication, cognition, independence, physical development and self care.
I really enjoy having a mentoring role, helping others to develop and grow in self belief to meet their full potential is very rewarding. I have been the NQT coordinator for several years and also have three TA apprentices who joined us in September. This will be my first year being an ITT professional mentor and I am looking forward to learning new coaching strategies and sharing ideas with other mentors.

My name is Kara. I have been a secondary school teacher in Coventry for 14 years. I am also a lead learning practitioner in IT and enjoy mentoring and coaching others. My passion is my love of learning and teaching and helping to make a difference to a student/s life by sharing, not just subject knowledge, but also by being a good role model for them. I want to partake in the mentoring of a trainee teacher to help support and encourage them along their own learning journey and share good practise with them.

My name is Neeloufar and I'm the English subject mentor at Georege Dixon Academy, a role I have been doing for 4 years now. Mentoring is a rewarding and fulfilling role, which enables me to humbly contribute to the next generation of entrants into our profession. It also means I continually reflect on, refresh and renew my teaching to ensure I am modelling effective practice. We have had a very meaningful and successful association with Warwick and I look forward to continuing the link.
