Confirmation of Understanding

Upon arrival at the interview process or very soon after, please ask all applicants to complete the Confirmation of Understanding.
This is an online form and should be completed by the applicant.

Interview Selection Notes

We invite you to use our interview selection documents (Examples below). Please feel free to amend these to suit your requirements.

It is a requirement for us to have evidence that each applicant has been through a fair and rigorous admissions process.
To ensure we gain consistent feedback for the applicants interviewed, we ask that you upload the interview selection document when completing the online offer recommendation form. We will not be able to process an offer without sufficient interview notes.

IMPORTANT: You must also ensure that at least one interview panel member for PGCE applicant interviews has completed Safer Recruitment training within the last two years, in accordance with the DfE Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance.
You will be asked to confirm this when you submit your Applicant Decision Form

DBS Documentation

non-salaried: The University now uses the 'First AdvantageLink opens in a new window' service so you no longer need to ask candidates to provide documents at interview. Once they accept any offer we will send their details to First Advantage who will contact them to start the process.

If they are based abroad, they would still need to send scans of their ID to you, as they cannot use the Post Office service. We ask that at interview they show you their photographic ID next to their face on screen, and you take a screenshot. All original documentation will need to be verified upon arrival at the start of the course.

SD Salaried: Fully completed UoW Vetting Check Form once the DBS/Overseas Checks have come through to you SDS Vetting Check. Our Disclosures Department have more information on the DBS process

Please note that apart from the vetting check for SDS applicants, we require all this documentation before an offer can be made.

It is extremely important that offers/rejections are not made by schools directly on the DfE System. Please ensure that you use our Application Decision form in order to make us aware of these decisions. We will then process these for you.
