Module Evaluation Project
Yesterday I attended a workshop run by Gwen van der Velden with the Student Learning Experience and Engagement Committee (SLEEC) on modernising the way Warwick collects module evaluations. Gwen stressed that none of these suggestions have been agreed upon and that this project is very much in the consultation phase (so in theory everything could still change).
Extended Classroom Forum
The Extended Classroom user group and the TEL forum have been merged into the newly formed Extended Classroom Forum which is designed to provide a one-stop-shop for all things technology at Warwick.
Moodle Super User Group
The Academic Technologies team have created a new group aimed at providing support for what they call Moodle 'super users' i.e. those staff with greater permissions than those staff in standard teaching roles.
School visits
As part of my work on developing a TEL strategy for CTE I have visited a number of our partner schools to see how they use technology in their teaching practice and the subsequent expectations they have on our students during their placements to use technology in their teaching. The idea is to see what support we can provide for students to better equip them for using technology in their teaching.
