Using eStream to create screencasts

eStream is the University supported hosting and recording platform. Recordings can be uploaded directly to eStream, or via Moodle. It is available to both staff and students via https://estream.warwick.ac.uk. You will need to use your Warwick username and password to log in.

You can use eStream in one of two ways. Firstly you can use it to upload and distribute recordings made using other devices or software. Secondly you can use it to record videos or screencasts and then distribute them directly or as Moodle assignments.

The advantage with eStream is that it will automatically convert different types of media into .mp4 files. The disadvantage is that it does not provide an automatic transcription or captioning service. If you are a member of staff in CTE you have a legal requirement to provide an alternative text version such as a transcript or captioning file to accompany your recordings.
