Financial Times online access

We are pleased to inform you that the University has a subscription to the Financial Times Online – www.ft.com. This will provide you with valuable access to news and analysis from the world’s leading business publication, and should give you an opportunity to enhance your academic studies.

Access to FT.com is via https://ft.com/Warwick. First time users need to complete the data privacy agreement and FT registration. Afterwards, login is via https://ft.com/Warwick with the university's single sign on authentication.

Technical issues. Should you have further queries or concerns, please email library@warwick.ac.uk. You can also contact the financial times directly on customer.support@ft.com, who will be happy to assist you.


The Economist

We now have a university wide subscription to The Economist.com. Access to The Economist via https://www.economist.com/. First time users should register by clicking on 'Login' and 'Register Now', and then registering with your @warwick.ac.uk email. Afterwards, login is via https://www.economist.com/ with your @warwick.ac.uk email address and password


New York Times

The library has a new subscription to the New York Times. This gives you access to breaking news, current daily edition, Spanish and Mandarin editions, newsletters, podcasts and videos, and the Times Machine digital archive.

First time users should register at https://www.nytimes.com/activate-access/digitalpass. Click on 'Create Account' and register with your @warwick.ac.uk email address. Afterwards, login is via https://www.nytimes.com/ with your @warwick.ac.uk email address and password. You can then download the New York Times app from Apple or Android stores to use on your mobile phone or tablet.

The subscription to the New York Times includes The New York Times inEducation which is a curated list of NYT articles on a range of topics for use in teaching and learning. For economics, in Education: Finance and Economics may be particularly useful. Unfortunately, the subscription is to NYT news content only. It does not include Games*, Cooking, Wirecutter or Athletic content (*although some Games are available for free).

Bloomberg Terminal 

The Bloomberg Terminal is a computer software system which provides access to current and historical financial information on individual equities, stock market indices, fixed-income securities, currencies, commodities, and futures for both international and domestic markets. It also provides company profiles and financial statements, analysts' forecasts, news on worldwide financial markets, and audio and video interviews and presentations by key players in business and finance.

SAGE Research Methods

Do you need help with your research project? SAGE Research Methods is a library database for social science researchers. From planning your research project, to guidance on quantitative and qualitative research methods, we have a range of books, articles and video case studies to help you. You are also welcome to contact Jackie Hanes (economics librarian) for help with literature searching, finding research data and referencing/reference management.
