We have acted on your feedback

We have acted on your feeedback

We have worked together to implement significant improvements to your teaching and learning experience. The changes detailed below are a direct response to your valuable feedback and demonstrate the shared commitment of both students and staff to providing an outstanding educational environment.

Teaching on your course

You told us…

You are inspired by lectures that are intellectually challenging and engaging…

So we decided to...

…introduce a new teaching observation-initiative to support and promote high-quality teaching.

You told us…

You appreciate frequent Support and Feedback classes and enjoy the interactive and personalised learning opportunities they provide…

So we decided to...

…introduce weekly Support and Feedback classes on all core Micro, Macro and Quantitative modules.

You told us…

You think that there are improvements to be made in the content of modules…

So we decided to...

…launch a comprehensive review of our curriculum to strengthen the quality of our degree programmes, address student needs, and adapt to the evolving educational and professional environment.

Learning Opportunities

You told us…

You would like more internships or practical experience during your course…

So we decided to...

…launch a new BSc Economics and Management degree programme in partnership with Warwick Business School. This programme includes an optional work placement year, allowing students to gain practical experience before completing their studies at Warwick in their final year. We also produced new Voluntary Year Out guidelines, designed to make students more aware of the opportunities and support we offer and to make the process easier to navigate.

You told us…

You wanted a clearer understanding of skills acquired in each module to develop your employability profile…

So we decided to...

…create a Module Skills page to help you understand how each module taken equips you with important skills as you progress through your degree. Visit our Module Skills page

Marking and Assessment

You told us…

You want to better understand how to use feedback to help you improve your work. You also have concerns about academic misconduct......

So we decided to...

…introduce a session on academic feedback designed to help students understand their feedback more effectively and use it to strengthen their academic work. We also send regular communications to help you understand academic integrity procedures, and arrange drop-in sessions with the SU as part of our Academic Integrity Celebrations.

Academic Support

You told us…

It is important that you feel supported academically, whether through staff office hours, dedicated feedback sessions, or advice from peers.

So we decided to...

…develop a series of new Economics study skills sessions to assist students in managing their coursework effectively, incorporating peer experiences as well as writing and feedback support. Additionally demonstration and drop-in sessions are scheduled before tests on core modules.

Organisation and Management

You told us…

Improvements should be made to how teaching is scheduled, and you disliked last minute information about timetabling changes.

So we decided to...

…redesign the timetable construction process so that the Term 1 and 2 timetables are published before the start of term 1 and class sign up is opened for both terms at the beginning of the academic year.

Learning Resources

You told us…

You would like more resources pre-arrival and during Year 1 for those without a background in economics and more support with the transition from Year 1 to Year 2...

So we decided to...

… develop our academic resources for offer holders and new students, with the Refresher Maths Moodle course extended to include Statistics. We also created bridging resources for Micro and Macro to support progression and help students transition smoothly into their second year.

You told us…

You’d like a clearer system to show which modules you can take...

So we decided to...

…revamp our module webpages, to make accessing information easier to find and more straightforward to understand. We also continue to hold a module fair so students can learn more about the optional modules available.

Student Voice

You told us…

You valued opportunities for student involvement, such as surveys and student-staff liaison meetings, and would like your feedback to be acted on...

So we decided to...

…develop a dedicated SSLC feedback form and email address to make it easier for you to share your views. We also introduced a student-led WISE project, creating a comprehensive guide for incoming undergraduates. We continue to foster a strong sense of community and collaboration, ensuring that we communicate regularly to you on how we have acted on your feedback..
