Law student Danielle Oreoluwa Jinadu will be sharing her experience of Sickle Cell Anemia as part of International Women’s Day 2020 in order to encourage change in how we perceive and navigate this chronic illness.

The University of Warwick held its annual Undergraduate Research Support Scheme (URSS) Showcase earlier this month on the 13 November 2019 in the Chancellors Suite. Two of our current law students, Alexander Reay and Natalie Payne, were invited along to celebrate their achievements, exhibit their work and share their research and experience.

First year Warwick law student Daniel Nwanebu has been awarded the 2019 Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Scholarship.

The Scheme was devised to address the disproportionate under-representation of black men from less privileged backgrounds in large commercial law firms and the City of London.

We are delighted to announce that the Law School’s Staff Student Liaison Committee won ‘SSLC of the year’ at the Student Union Representation Awards on Friday. The awards aim to recognise and celebrate the amazing achievements in, and contributions to, academic representation and democracy at Warwick SU.

Second year LLB student, Samantha Woods has been awarded a special inaugural prize for her work in property law due to her incredible research on tenancies which she conducted with Dr James Harrison.

Samantha is the first to receive the ‘Slaughter and May Property Law Prize’ which the firm offered to Warwick Law School at the start of the academic year.

Warwick Law Society President Maaya Sachdev won the award for the Best Law Society President at the Student Law Society Awards 2019, sponsored by Norton Rose Fulbright and hosted by LawCareers.Net, which took place on Thursday 14 March at Painter’s Hall in London.

The SSLC Staff Awards for 2018-19 took place in the Law School Hub yesterday where our SSLC reps Amy Wang and Toby Stacey took to the stage to announce the winners. They celebrated together with their students, colleagues and some Easter treats and were presented with a small token of appreciation from the student body.

Warwick Law students Toby Stacey and Stephanie Fernandes have qualified for the finals of the National Client Interviewing Competition 2019, having come second in their regional heat at Keele University last month.

Congratulations to our students who made it all the way to the quarter finals of the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition earlier this month.

Warwick Law School Associate Professor Dr Jane Bryan has been shortlisted for the 2019 Law Teacher of the Year Award.

The award, which aims to recognise the best talent in law teaching, called for nominations from both staff and students at the end of last year and Jane has made the finals along with four other shortlisted candidates.

The University of Warwick has been ranked among the best universities in the world for politics and international studies and sociology, business and economics, education and law, according to the Times Higher Education’s 2019 World Reputation Rankings released this week.
