New partner university: Queen’s University, Canada
From this year, students taking the Law with Study Abroad in English LLB course will now have the option of taking an exchange year at our new partner university, Queen's University in Kingston, Canada. We are truly excited to add Kingston, Ontario to our overseas community - and to offer our students a chance to swap their trainers for snow boots, and Pret for poutine!
Warwick named University of the Year for Teaching Quality
The University of Warwick has today been named the University of the Year for Teaching Quality and as runner-up for University of the Year by the Sunday Times’ Good University Guide 2022.
Warwick named as one of the UK’s top 10 universities by the Guardian
The University of Warwick has been named as one of the UK’s top 10 universities in the Guardian University Guide 2022, placing 6th – a rise of two places.
Student satisfaction at WLS rises to 81.4% in NSS
Despite the challenge of teaching during the pandemic Warwick Law School saw its student satisfaction rate rise to 81.4% in the 2021 National Student Survey, a 6.8% increase since 2020 despite a sharp decline for the wider UK HE sector.
Law Alumna elected as SU President
Shingai Dzumbira, who studied on our LLB 3 year degree from 2016-2019 has been elected as the President of the Student Union (SU) for the 2021/22 academic year. “I am really excited. I have a rare opportunity to lead the trajectory of a charity organisation that exists to represent students. I think that’s what excites me most – being put in a place where I can impact the lives of students at the University of Warwick.”

Expert Comment: WHO calls for moratorium on boosters
The Law School's global health ethics expert Dr Sharifah Sekalala, comments on the WHO's call for a moratorium on administering booster jabs of Covid-19 vaccines as a way to help ensure that doses are available in countries where few people have received their first dose.

Warwick Law student honoured with prestigious Diana Award
Kaneeka Kapur, a final-year undergraduate student within Warwick Law School, has been awarded the 2021 Diana Award in recognition of her amazing work on Pardesi - a social action platform that she created to provide a space for South Asian women to be heard, seen and celebrated.
Law School Alumnus releases debut novel
Former LLM student Saurabh Bagaria, who studied on our international Economic Law programme from 2007-2008 has written and published his first novel titled “Money Gone”. In this book, he combines creative writing and legal nuances to produce a work of legal fiction involving the current and relevant issues of money laundering and crypto-currency.

Dr Laura Lammasniemi has been chosen to deliver the 2021 British Science Association Social Sciences Award Lecture, in recognition of her innovative research and commitment to public engagement.

The University of Warwick has been named as one of the UK’s top 10 and one of Europe’s top 20 universities in two new league tables. Warwick has risen in the 2022 QS World University Rankings to 61st in the world – making Warwick one of Europe’s top 20 universities – and has been placed 10th in the UK by the Complete University Guide.
