Warwick Law School is offering a 20% discount on its LLM fees to all Warwick graduates.

If you are interested in studying one of our LLM programmes and have graduated from a degree at Warwick in the past, or you are about to graduate this summer and interested in staying on for an LLM, you will be entitled to a 20% discount on the tuition fee.

Congratulations to our students who made it all the way to the quarter finals of the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition earlier this month.

We caught up with the team to find out more about it.

Warwick Law School Associate Professor Dr Jane Bryan has been shortlisted for the 2019 Law Teacher of the Year Award.

The award, which aims to recognise the best talent in law teaching, called for nominations from both staff and students at the end of last year and Jane has made the finals along with four other shortlisted candidates.

As part of his British Academic Rising Start Engagement Award, Warwick Law’s Dr Andi Hoxhaj hosted an event at Chatham House in London on Wednesday 6 February 2019 funded by the British Academy.

The event titled ‘Challenges to the Rule of Law in Central Europe and the Western Balkans’ comprised of two sessions, one focusing on the Western Balkans and the second, on Central Europe.

In January 2019, the Centre for Operational Police Research (COPR) released their final report on Public Confidence and Crime Reduction: The Impact of Forensic Property Marking.

The project was completed in co-operation with West Mercia Police and assessed a field trial involving over 20,000 households in the Telford area.

Professor Andrew Sanders, Head of Warwick Law School has issued a statement on the recent disciplinary hearings.

Former postgraduate student Faeeza Vaid was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list for her work advancing women’s rights, particularly supporting vulnerable Muslim women.

Faeeza, who studied on our former LLM in Socio-Legal Studies programme and graduated in 2010 with distinction, always showed a passion and interest in human rights during her studies.

The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) is a £1.5 billion fund announced by the UK Government in late 2015 to support cutting-edge research that addresses the challenges faced by developing countries. Warwick Law School have recently succeeded in securing funding for three projects to support research in international development.

Gary Watt, Warwick Law School Professor and National Teaching Fellow has been awarded a Leverhulme Trust Major Research Fellowship. The award includes a grant of £175,554 to buy out Gary’s teaching for a period of three years allowing him to undertake a major research project.

Warwick Law School Associate Professor and GLOBE Member, Dr John Snape, and University of Cambridge Lecturer and fellow of Christ’s College, Dr Dominic de Cogan have, in January 2019, published with Hart their new edited book Landmark Cases in Revenue Law. The book has been recognised as Hart's Book of the Month.

Congratulations to CJC members Anastasia Chamberlen and Henrique Carvalho! Anastasia and Henrique recently published an article, which is one of the three articles that have been shortlisted for the Social-Legal Studies Association (SLSA) Article Prize 2019.

Warwick Law School postgraduate alumnus Joseph Dion Ngute has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Cameroon. Dion Ngute took office on 5 January 2019, replacing Philemon Yang, the country’s longest-serving Prime Minister.
