Ozlem Atikcan has co-edited a special issue of the Journal of Common Market Studies (JCMS) with Anna Holzscheiter (TU Dresden), Jean-Frédéric Morin (Université Laval) and Tim Henrichsen (University of Birmingham). The special issue explores how policy actors frame and govern complex societal challenges in an era of uncertainty and contestation.

The collection emerged from the FRAMENET (Frames in Production: Actors, Networks, Diffusion) research project, funded through the Open Research Area. Building on FRAMENET's research into how actors frame issues and how frames shape policy debates and outcomes, the special issue examines the role of ideas and framing processes in governance across a range of issue areas such as migration, environment, health and AI. In addition to co-editing the issue, Ozlem co-authored the introductory article, a conceptual piece that develops a framework for analysing governance through framing processes, and an empirical study examining migration governance in the EU.
