Sarah Evans

BSc Molecular Cell Biology (Nottingham), MA Research Methods (Nottingham), PhD Sociology (Nottingham)

I am a research fellow with the IKON research group. I am currently working on an evaluative research study of the CLAHRCs, which are collaborative translational initiatives between universities and their local healthcare organisations. This study will contribute insight into how knowledge translation can be supported through deliberate institutional support that brings together expertise from diverse groups.

I previously was part of a research team that examined the challenges with conducting clinical research in the UK, with the aim of identifying social, organisational and managerial factors influencing innovation.

My research interests are primarily about innovation within the healthcare and clinical research sector, such as how knowledge translation can be achieved, and innovation processes through collaborative working across the boundaries of different groups. Previous doctorate study explored the translation of molecular genetic knowledge into clinical practice.
