Crocus Unavailable - Tuesday 20 January, 16.30-17.30

ITS have scheduled an urgent change to replace a faulty component on Tuesday 20 January to the NFS server crocus which serves the Unix home directories for mimosa, primrose and some Linux machines.

In order to correct the fault, the server will be in maintenance between 16:30 and 17:30 - users are advised to log out in advance.  The following services will be unavailable:

  • Unix shared or home directories.
  • Unix-based email clients will not be available to process mail during the outage period. Messages will not be lost and can be retrieved once service is resumed.
  • Web sites – created on mimosa, primrose or crocus (not Sitebuilder pages).
  • MySQL databases.
