Annual Submission of Department Monitoring Schemes

The Immigration & Compliance team have central oversight in ensuring departments follow the Good Practice Guide on Monitoring Student Engagement and Progression. This is in order to support international students’ learning through monitoring their engagement and academic progress, and to ensure compliance in respect of our monitoring of students who need a student visa to study here.

The monitoring of student engagement for visa-sponsored students is subject to inspection by professional, statutory and regulatory bodies (PSRBs). For Warwick, this includes United Kingdom Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

The guide is updated annually prior to the summer vacation, when departments are likely to be creating their own monitoring schemes. The collation of monitoring schemes can be challenging and time consuming, especially in the event of an UKVI audit. To ensure we are able to successfully mitigate the risks, departments are required to annually submit monitoring schemes to the Immigration & Compliance team.

The deadline to submit departmental monitoring schemes for the 2024/25 academic year will be 22nd September 2024. Please submit schemes for each study level if this applies – e.g. UG, PGT, PGR, etc. A maximum of four files can be uploaded.
