Academic Governance Review - what's next for your feedback?

A big thank you to everyone who has so helpfully engaged in consultation on our Academic Governance Review to date. The University community were invited to contribute their feedback on the Green Paper, and we received a wealth of support, challenge, and suggestion on the early findings set out, all of which have contributed to the shaping and development of the White Paper.

The White Paper presents a set of the recommendations of the Senate Working Group. The recommendations are split into five broad areas of defining good academic governance and principles: Architecture and Remits; Academic Assurance and Compliance; Constitutions and Diversity of Membership; and Inclusive Environments and Ways of Working. More detail on the White Paper is available here.

Last week, we presented the White Paper, alongside a framework for what good academic governance looks like at Warwick, to the Senate. We are now sharing the White Paper more generally for further engagement and feedback.

The Academic Governance Framework was approved in principle by the Senate, and is also being disseminated to the wider community. The Framework sets out a definition, principles, and scope for Warwick's Academic Governance. It aims to provide clarity and transparency of process and sets out a simplified typology and naming conventions for committees and their levels at an institutional and faculty level of academic governance. Find out more about the Academic Governance Framework here.

How do I share my feedback?

You can have your say directly through the online anonymised feedback form.

Feedback on the White Paper will be considered by the Senate Working Group and a final report on the Academic Governance Review 2023/24, including any refined recommendations, will be shared with the Senate for approval in June 2024.

Please provide your feedback by 12pm on 14th May 2024.
