Mark Rowland

Mark Rowland has been a Methodist minister since 2009 and served in Cardiff and Coventry before joining the chaplaincy team at Warwick. Originally from Aberystwyth in mid Wales, Mark gained his MEng in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge and spent a short time in patent work before training for ministry, during which he completed an MA in Theology and Religious Studies. Mark completed his PhD at the University of Leeds with a thesis entitled 'A queer and Methodist theology of holiness: strategies for queering Wesley's teaching'. In addition to his role at Warwick, Mark works for the Methodist Church nationally as Secretary of the Faith and Order Committee.

Mark lives with his husband Sam, who is also a Methodist minister. He enjoys singing, can play the piano and organ and is attempting to learn to dance. He is glad to be part of the Warwick community and is always glad to get to know staff and students of all faiths and none.
