Scarman bedrooms set to receive new look in £4 million refresh at Warwick Conferences

Scarman bedroom

Warwick Conferences will provide a more relaxing and comfortable environment for guests during overnight stays with a £4 million refurbishment of the Scarman onsite accommodation.

All 204 rooms will have contemporary décor. Bathrooms will be revamped with walk-in showers or baths and rainfall showers. Each room will have a new smart TV with streaming options, fresh carpeting, curtains and upgraded mattresses.

Keeping in line with Warwick Conferences’ goal of being carbon zero by 2030, heating, lighting and water will be upgraded to be more energy efficient. As part of Warwick Conferences’ commitment to reduce waste, existing high-quality wooden furnishings will be upcycled to create a new feel. Alongside this, pieces of furniture that are no longer needed in the rooms shall be re-used elsewhere across the University of Warwick campus.

Andrew Taylor, Head of Conferences at Warwick Conferences, commented: “Whilst investing in and upgrading our facilities we wanted to be respectful of the environment. Often, refurbishments lead to unnecessary waste, so it is important that we reuse or refurbish where possible. We’re proud that our rooms will reflect our emphasis on sustainability, whilst being a comfortable and memorable space.”

To connect guests with the local surroundings, each bedroom will include artwork featuring nearby destinations and places which celebrate Warwickshire, including Warwick Castle and Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Andrew added: “The goal of the refurbishment is to create both a relaxing and inspiring environment for our guests to retreat to following their busy days.”
