Disruption to path access in Tocil Wood - Friday 25 February 2022

This work was rearranged from last week as a result of Storm Eunice on 18 February. Thank you for your patience and support.

The safety of our students, staff, campus visitors and local community is our priority as we manage the University estate sustainably.

Unfortunately, we have identified some ash trees that need to be felled as they are suffering with ash dieback. Work needs to be carried out as soon as possible to prevent them from deteriorating further and before bird nesting season.

This work will be taking place on Friday 25 February 2022, 10am-3pm.

The trees are in Tocil Wood, situated along the edge of the cycleway/pathway that runs between the main campus and Gibbet Hill.

Trees will only be felled one at a time, and where possible felled back into the woodland and moved off the cycleway/pathway as quickly as possible.

The cycleway/pathway will still be open to the public, however, it may cause some minor disruption for people using the route. Warning signs will be in place and people will be working on the path to stop anyone entering the area when unsafe to do so.

Thanks for bearing with us.
