We are preparing a planning application to submit to Coventry City Council for a number of developments on the University campus over the next five years. There will be an opportunity to find out more and to share your views at consultation events for staff and students on Thursday 24 May as follows:

  • 9:30am to 11:30am, Gibbet Hill Café
  • 12 noon to 2pm, Senate House reception area
  • 2:30pm to 4:30pm, Café Westwood

The plans comprise nine projects which are expected to be delivered over the next five years, including a new Faculty of Arts building, a facility for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research, accommodation for up to 1,000 students, and new car parking. We propose combining these into a single “hybrid” planning application including detailed and outline proposals and a revised travel plan, which will be submitted to the City Council later this Spring. This application will be subject to approval by local authorities, and each project to further approval within the University.

Your feedback on these plans is valuable, and will also feed into the development of our longer-term vision for campus which we are currently developing, and have been holding initial consultation events with staff and students over the last few weeks.

Please join us on Thursday 24 May. Colleagues and students who live locally will also receive information by post about a public consultation event that we are holding on Wednesday 23 May on the hybrid planning application. If you are unable to attend any of the sessions, information on the proposals will also be available after the event.
