Oculus shortlisted for Construction News's Project of the Year Awards

The Oculus made it through to the finals of 2017's Project of the Year Awards, run by Construction News. Our building was up against competitors as varied as an airport, a Grade-1 listed market and a Police custody suite in the £10 - £20 million category of this year's awards.

The Oculus, which opened in autumn 2016, features a 500 seat lecture theatre (the largest on campus), 12 top-quality, flexible teaching spaces and lots of well-used social learning spaces for our students. It was officially opened by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, who visited the campus on Thursday 30 March and unveiled a plaque in the building.
