Kirby Corner Road works

As you may be aware, there has been some flooding to a section of Kirby Corner Road at the junction with Avon Road, which has caused disruption to road users and pedestrians.

Coventry City Council are working with their Suppliers Amelio Utilities to undertake drainage investigations at Kirby Corner Road. We believe we have now determined the main cause of the recent flooding; root intrusion and blockage of a pipe running alongside the road.

Further work is now required to complete root cutting and unblocking of the pipe. This is scheduled to take place on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th November. To complete this work 3 way traffic lights will be required between 9.30am and 3.30 pm.

With regards to the university we are also conducting a process of checking and clearing our drains (where necessary) on the Westwood campus to ensure we aren’t adding to the flooding issue.

Efforts have been taken to minimise disruption during this time. To check traffic conditions and plan your journey please visit here.
