Benefactors Refurbishment
This was the first major refurbishment of the Benefactors building since it was constructed in 1966 – one of the first buildings on campus. Benefactors offers self-contained apartments, shared accommodation and a ground floor social area for its postgraduate residents.
In 2016, we worked a great deal on the outside of the building, giving it a more modern feel and much improved surrounding landscape. As ever, sustainability was a key consideration in this project. The building was connected to the campus heating network, powered by our efficient combined heating and power plant to cut down on energy consumption.
