Lakeside Staff & Family Refurbishment
The Lakeside Staff and Family rewire and refurbishment project focuses on upgrading one of the University of Warwick’s key residential assets, which provides accommodation for staff, visiting academics, and students with dependants. Representing around 35% of the University’s family housing provision, Lakeside plays an important role in supporting recruitment, welcoming international colleagues, and enabling inclusive living on campus.
Built in 1998, the development now requires significant improvement works to ensure it remains safe, reliable, and fit for modern use.
The project will deliver a full electrical rewire and refurbishments across 50 self-contained flats within 10 residential blocks, addressing ageing infrastructure and bringing the buildings in line with current safety standards. The works are planned to be delivered on a rolling programme throughout the 2026/2027 financial year, helping to minimise disruption while maintaining operational use.
Once complete, the project will support the long-term quality and usability of this important accommodation for the University community.
