Transport and Mobility
Supporting our vision for an exceptional university campus for all who work, study, and visit, we are developing a wide range of sustainable transport solutions. As our campus changes and evolves, with active green spaces in the core of campus, and a more cohesive network of routes, we are putting health, wellbeing and inclusivity at its heart with a shift from the use of cars to other sustainable transport methods.
These solutions will have an important environmental impact as we work towards our net-zero by 2050 target. We actively encourage our staff, students, and visitors to have a shift in their behaviour and to reconsider their modes of transport travelling to, in and around our campus.
With sustainability underpinning our transport development plans, we will create a better world for future generations.
Initiatives
We’re developing a wide range of transport initiatives and progressing the way we manage transport provision, such as car parking and cycle facilities.
We want to enable easier and more sustainable access to our campus. With transport more affordable for staff, students, and visitors, we can encourage the use of sustainable travel options.
Our philosophy for sustainable movement
We’re ensuring our transport provision is accessible and inclusive in meeting the needs of everyone who uses our campus, as well as accommodating our aspirations for growth and long-term goal of reducing carbon emissions.
By collaborating closely with our staff, student communities, and external stakeholders, we can make a real change.
