Revisions to Regulation 38

On 7 July 2021, the Senate approved revisions to the description of what constitutes "minor corrections" within section 38.8 Decisions of the examiners of Regulation 38 Governing Research Degrees, on the recommendation of the Board of Graduate Studies. These changes took place with immediate effect and were noted by the Council on 14 July 2021.

Revisions to Regulation 42

On 16 June 2021, the Senate approved a number of minor revisions to the wording of Regulation 42 Governing Academic Appeals to improve expression, ensure consistency throughout and remove any possible ambiguities between the wording of the current text and recent previous changes to the Regulation. These changes took place with immediate effect and were noted by the Council on 14 July 2021.

Revisions to Regulation 36

On 10 May 2021 the Vice-Chancellor took Chair’s action on behalf of the Senate to approve amendments to sections 36.1.10, 36.4.2 and 36.4.3 of Regulation 36 Student Registration, Attendance and Progress, following a change in UKVI terminology. These changes took place with immediate effect and were noted by the Council on 14 July 2021.

Revisions to Regulation 43

On 17 March 2021, the Senate approved revisions to Regulation 43 to ensure alignment to the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) rules for degree apprenticeships relating to breaks in learning. These changes took place with immediate effect and were noted by the Council on 19 May 2021.

Revisions to Regulation 8

On 17 March 2021, the Senate approved revisions to Regulation 8 as follows:

8.3 amended to include WMS new UG Masters degree in Integrated Sciences (MSci)

8.10 amended to enable the waiving of clinical examinations in exceptional circumstances, such as national healthcare emergencies (following earlier approval by Senate for Phase 1 examinations and then expended due to the ongoing pandemic).

These changes took place with immediate effect and were noted by the Council on 19 May 2021.
