The University Information Management Executive Committee advises the University Executive Board (UEB) on all matters relating to information management activities undertaken by the University including Information Governance, Data Protection and IT Security.

Terms of Reference
(a) To support and challenge the operationalisation of data protection activities.
(b) To facilitate the identification and resolution of challenges associated with implementation and maintenance of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance activities.
(c) To promote co-operation between the University and its employees and students on all matters relating to the handling of personal data and privacy issues.
(d) To provide advice and support on the development and implementation of institutional data protection and privacy compliance policies, guidance and associated protocols and procedures.
(e) To comment upon the University’s strategic objectives and action plans, and to review progress on these.
(f) To assure the Steering Committee and the Audit and Risk Committee of issues relating to the management of data and privacy across the University.
(g) To raise awareness of data protection and privacy compliance by acting as an ambassador and seeking to influence working practices across the University.

The Secretariat will confirm when the paper has been approved, note any amendments required and confirm the paper number.
