Terms of Reference
1. Approves, rejects or moderates the award of taught degrees and sub-degree on the recommendation of Boards of Examiners.
2. Approves the award of aegrotat and posthumous awards.
3. Approves appointments to Boards of Examiners and the appointment of External Examiners.
4. Determines cases referred by Boards of Examiners where a ruling on the interpretation of regulations is needed, or a decision outside of approved regulations is proposed.
5. Advises on opportunities to improve process or policy relating to assessment, progression and award.

Notification of papers for consideration by the Senate Awarding Panel should be submitted to the Secretary three weeks in advance and the paper should be submitted two weeks in advance of the meeting at which they are to be considered. Please refer to the table below for paper notification and paper submission deadlines for 2024/25 meetings.
