For committees of the Senate, the Secretariat is asked to use the Senate Committee Memberships System to notify changes of membership, or request constitutional changes, both when prompted annually and with respect to 'in-year' changes. The system allows more accurate recording of proposed changes, superior reporting and global updates to records in the case of ex officio posts.
