Work/Life Balance and Children Benefits

Flexible Working

From 6 April 2024, all employees are eligible to request flexible working such as, reduced hours, term time only, job sharing, or compressed hours.

Career Break

We are committed to providing you with flexible opportunities at various stages of your career. Employees with 6 months continuous service have the opportunity to apply for a period of extended leave through our Career Break scheme.

Maternity, Paternity, Shared Parental and Adoption Leave

You have access to exceptional paid maternity, paternity shared parental and adoption leave, depending on length of your service. Plans are available to help you determine eligibility for University and Statutory Pay.

Parental Leave and Time Off For Dependents

We understand that sometimes you will need time off to care for a child or dependant. Unpaid Parental Leave is available for such foreseen circumstances. In the case of an emergency, you are also entitled to reasonable time off for dependants.

We understand the importance taking a break as a chance to relax, exercise or to connect with others. We encourage employees to make use of the Warwick Moves+Link opens in a new window reward app or visiting the Outdoor Activity Zone or to attend one of the many on-campus events which should be advertised via Insite (your all-staff newsletter)

For families, there are many events and activities on campus suitable for families. You may wish to visit Warwick Sports Centre and Warwick Arts Centre webpages for details on facilities and upcoming events and activities.
