The Applications Menu can be accessed by clicking 'Applications' in the top panel.

- GNOME Terminal
GNOME Terminal provides a command prompt where you can type commands. It can be launched via the GNOME Menu or by clicking the icon in the top Panel.

- Nautilus
Nautilus is the graphical file manager. A quick launcher is provided on the top Panel. (See annotated screengrab of the default desktop) It can also be launched via the Places tab of the GNOME menu.

- Panel
Panels hold compents such as the Applications menu, clock and window list. GNOME Classic includes two panels, one at the top and one at the bottom of the screen.

SSH File Transfer Protocol or Secure File Transfer Protocol.
A method of transfering files securely over SSH.
