Email service strategy

The strategy for our email service is predicated on the idea that email is now a commodity service; there is little to be done to differentiate our email offering from any other instance, and all that is required is to keep up with current user expectations based on their experience of other email providers in terms of storage, access on multiple devices, satellite services such as calendar, contacts, etc.

For this reason, our current strategy for email is predicated on out-sourcing staff and student email to a third-party provider - Microsoft's service - and concentrating effort on moving further up the value chain by looking at activities such as mass email, email marketing, etc.
