Coaching Professional Development Programme

About

This development programme leads to the Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship qualification plus individual accreditation with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).

The aim of the programme is to develop a group of internal qualified coaches, so that the University can offer a high quality internal coaching service for staff.

Colleagues who work 30 hours or more per week can complete the programme in 14 months. For colleagues who work fewer than 30 hours per week the programme lasts 16-22 months depending on their contractual hours.

A Coaching Professional needs to have a good level of self-awareness and a commitment to continuous learning and development. They need to be able to build effective coaching relationships and deal with a wide range of colleagues. They also need to be able to dedicate real time as this programme includes 317 guided learning hours over the duration of the programme.

In addition, participants on this programme need to be able to contribute to the internal coaching service after they have completed the programme. This will involve coaching colleagues from across the University for up to 2 hours per month.
