RCT blog
This blog is an opportunity for students to read and share stories and experiences of residential life at university. It’s a space to find out more about how students before you have navigated their residential journey; what worked and also what didn’t, things you need to know and things you may not have thought about!
Our mission is to create a positive study and workplace wellbeing environment and a space for wellbeing conversations and contemplation.
We strive to build a community where wellbeing is a shared value and responsibility.
We treat everyone and every voice with respect and the right to remain anonymous.
If you have something you think would be useful to discuss or would like to contribute to the blog about your own experiences, please use our submission form to submit your blog, article or to give a suggestion for a future topic.
RCT Winter Warmer! Festivities galore!
On Tuesday and Thursday last week the Residential Community Team have held a Winter Warmer event in 2 locations across campus. We had mince pies, hot chocolate and wine to enjoy whilst listening to the wonderful sounds of the Warwick students Brass Band!
We had 2 events, one was held outside the RCT Hub in Red Square, and the second was in the Lakeside Residence Hub. The band played all the big festive carols, from “We Wish you a Merry Christmas” to the “12 days of Christmas” which meant everyone could have a singalong, and some of us even had a go at a spot of conducting (afterthoughts were, best left to the professionals!)
We had over 300 attendees to the events, and we even ran out of mince pies! (Outcry!)
Attendees were encouraged to sport their best Xmas jumpers, and many rose to the occasion, including our very own Linda Sherwin who was giving Will Ferrell in Elf a run for his money in terms of festive spirit!
We plan to hold many more events such as this throughout the year and we would love to hear your feedback or suggestions via email on rescommunity@warwick.ac.uk or drop in to the RCT Hub and say hi!
