Catherine is the Director of Research & Impact Services, and works alongside the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) on the development and delivery of the University’s strategy for research and impact, encompassing the research environment, people, partnerships, and infrastructure.

Catherine’s team provides support across the continuum of research development and support, being responsible for the University’s programme of Global Research Priorities as well as the network of research centres, which provide facilitative and collaborative environments for research that crosses departmental boundaries.

Research & Impact Services is also responsible for supporting the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), Faculty Chairs, and Research Directors, on the development and implementation of strong support structures for the delivery of non-academic research impact, and for the formation of research partnerships at international, national, and regional levels.

Catherine and her team provide expertise and guidance with regards to the development and submission of research grants and contracts, encompassing costings, negotiation of terms and conditions, bid support, research ethics, governance, and sponsorship. Research & Impact Services also supports the pro-active management of the University’s research strategy via the provision of accurate performance data, reporting this directly to the University Research Committee.

Catherine is a graduate of Law from the University of Leeds, and has completed the Legal Practice Course (York College of Law) an MSc in Urban Regeneration (Sheffield Hallam) and graduated as a Doctor of Education from the University of Liverpool in December 2016.

Prior to joining the University of Warwick in June 2014, Catherine worked in a range of senior roles at the universities of Sheffield and Liverpool, supporting regional engagement, business partnerships, and latterly delivering a comprehensive re-structure of Liverpool’s Research Support Office.
