ERC Training by Yellow Research: STG and COG 2027 calls
Deadline to apply: 5pm on Wed 6 May. You are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as we may close applications early if sufficient applications are received before the deadline.
Overview
We have commissioned established consultancy company, Yellow ResearchLink opens in a new window, to provide training to prospective applicants (applying with Warwick as the host) to the European Research Council (ERC) StartingLink opens in a new window and Consolidator Link opens in a new windowGrants with deadlines as follows:
- ERC-2027-StG, deadline expected in October 2026 and
- ERC-2027-CoG, deadline expected in January 2027
The training will explain what ERC panels are looking for and how the latest ERC revisions acknowledge the proposals' engagement with important research questions and the track record of PIs. The information provided should enable you to develop an excellent conceptual idea and scientific approach to enhance the likelihood of funding. See the leafletLink opens in a new window for full information on the course content.
A maximum of 40 places are available on the training so an internal selection process applies to select the attendees. To be eligible for the training, you should have concrete plans to apply with Warwick as the host institution to one of the above two calls. You should also be available to attend online on all of the course dates. See the 'Eligibility' tab for full details on eligibility.
Session dates and times (online attendance, all UK times):
- Webinar 1 from 9.30am- 12pm, Wednesday 13 May
- Webinar 2 from 9.30am- 12pm, Thursday 14 May
- Wrap-up session 9.30am- 11.30am, Tuesday 19 May
If selected for the training, you are expected to attend all 3 sessions.
- You must have concrete plans to apply to either the ERC StG (deadline expected Oct 2026) or the ERC CoG (deadline expected Jan 2027) call, and the University of Warwick must be the host institution for this application.
- If you are unsure as to whether this funding opportunity is right for you, please contact Lelia Buretia (contact details below) in the first place to discuss suitability prior to applying to attend the ERC Yellow Research training. This is because we would like to ensure that the training is mainly used to develop/ enhance proposals as opposed to being used to find out more about the scheme/ funder to decide whether to apply or not.
- You may apply for a place on the training if you previously applied to the ERC and if you previously attended other ERC training, including other training offered by Yellow Research on the ERC.
- You are not eligible to apply for the training if you already hold an ERC project.
- You are not eligible to apply for the training if you wish to apply to any other ERC calls besides the ERC-2027-StG and ERC-2027-CoG.
- At application stage, you must be available to attend for the entire duration of the three webinars as per the published session dates and times.
- Selection decisions will not be available until a few days before the first webinar so you must hold the dates and times in your calendar when you apply, to ensure you remain available to attend when/ if notified of a successful outcome.
- Prospective applicants not currently at Warwick but committed to apply with Warwick as the host institution to either of the two ERC calls are also eligible to attend this training. External applicants should specify in their EoI/ application form if they already discussed hosting arrangements at Warwick and give a relevant contact and their department.
