Claim your unique identifiers

Elements uses unique IDs from providers such as Scopus, ORCID, Dimensions and Web of Science to find your publications and grants and add them to your profile. You will need to claim, ignore or reject these, and add other identifiers if you have them.

1. From the homepage, click 'Edit my profile'

Homepage in Symplectic Elements

2. Click 'Go to the automatic claiming page' under 'Other profiles'

3. When you first enter the system, it may have found some identifiers to suggest to you; work through the list to claim, reject or ignore these.
Check whether an identifier is yours by clicking on the ID number. This will take you to a list of the publications associated with the ID number, so that you can check whether it's yours.

4. If the ID is definitely yours, click 'Yes'. You will then be asked whether you would like the system to 'Auto claim' or 'Autosuggest' publications in future. If you select 'Auto claim', any publications associated to the identifier will appear on your profile. If you select 'Auto suggest', you will get a notification email when publications are found and can choose to claim or reject them.

5. If you aren't sure whether an ID is yours, click 'Ignore'. This way, publications will still be suggested to you, and at any time you can claim or reject the publication. Only select 'No' if you are certain this isn't you.

Autoclaim or auto suggest publications to you

6. You can add other identifiers manually. Click on the type of profile under 'Add external profile' and enter the relevant ID. You can also tell the system to identify your outputs using email addresses other than your University of Warwick address.
