The URSS is great opportunity lead your own research project, develop valuable transferable skills, enhance your CV and career prospects, as well as building your confidence.
This year the URSS funded 202 undergraduate students to carry out a summer project, with 45 students travelling abroad to carry out their research project. Many student travelled across Europe and other went as far a field as Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Peru, China, Ghana and Indonesia.
To apply you will need to find a supervisor, an academic or post doctoral student, and discuss the project with them before applying. The URSS application should be completed in conjunction with your lead supervisor by the closing date by the slightly extended deadline of Tuesday 14 January 2020 at 11:59pm. Please note that this is the absolute deadline and we will not be able to accept any further applications beyond this date. You will need to prepare the content of the application with your supervisor in advance in order to complete the online application.
If you are interested in Warwick/Hong Kong University (HKU) research exchange please indicate by ticking the box on the application that you wish to be considered. You will still need the support of a Warwick supervisor, however if you are selected for one of the 4 exchange places we will identify an academic supervisor for you at HKU.
The URSS application Review Board will meet at the beginning of March and the outcome will be communicated by email to both staff and students by the end of March 2020.
We are also pleased to announce that the EUTOPIA partnership are offering funding for two students to carry out a URSS summer project at one of the EUTOPIA campuses. The application deadline is 16 March 2020.
