About the Researcher

I am a theatre director and English and Theatre graduate. My practical interest in the making of theatre is supported by an academic concern with dramaturgical theory, performance studies, and practice-as-research.

About this Project

To coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the university, and the fortieth anniversary of the Warwick Arts Centre, my research will form a strand of the Warwick 2065 project. I am interested in mapping a history of Warwick graduate theatre companies over the history of the university, with particular attention to those formed since the year 2000. As an extension of this research I will be exploring the sense (if any) in which these companies "feel" Warwick to ascertain whether there are any shared artistic values, principles or practices associated with theatremakers who study at Warwick. This research will form the basis of an exhibition taking place as a feature of the Emerge Festival at Warwick Arts Centre in November.
