About the Researcher

Rosanna Hiscock, recent graduate in the department of English Literature. Long-standing interest in prevalence of literature in far disassociated cultures, and especially the political voices of authors writing in turbulant, exotic countries, and their use of supernaturalism and ancient magic in story form.

An avid illustrator, and this is the form in which the research will be presented.

About this Project

To be conducted with fellow researcher Ollie Hall, who is taking the photography side of the research. We both travel out to Sao Paulo and Salvador in Brazil, and spend 6 weeks researching, interviewing proffessors, talking to students at local universities and seeing the real versions of images Brazilian authors such as Jorge Amado create for their readers. We will then return to collate our produce and present it in a highly visual format for the benefit of an unfamiliar audience and cultural, literary research in our department.
