Warwicks 5k Anyway Success
One Big Thing, part of a nationwide initiative by UK active to encourage young people to take part in more exercise took place across universities all over the UK on Friday 16 May.
Warwick SU and Warwick Sport provided a full range of activities and programmes for the community to get involved with from scheduled running routes around campus to spin sessions and free gym sessions in the Sports Centre and rowing in the piazza, there was something for everyone.
In total, Warwick covered a massive 1,280km, the equivalent of travelling from campus to Barcelona.
Hundreds of people got involved during the day with some of the sports societies providing entertaining and energetic ways of completing their 5kms; Women’s Football dribbled 5km, Warwick Tramps bounced 5km, Warwick Rowers covered 5km races in the Piazza and the Volleyball team ran and spun their way along a 5km route.
