Gym conditions of use
To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, please follow these rules:
- Access: Bring your ID/membership card to enter the gym barriers, or use the Smart Tile reader in the UoW Sport app.
- Equipment use: Read all instructions and warning notices before using equipment. If unsure, ask a member of the Health & Fitness team.
- Clean equipment: Wipe down equipment after use using the spray and roll provided in the gym.
- Bags and belongings: Store all bags and personal items in lockers to avoid trip hazards. If your bag does not fit, leave it at the gym reception and take only what you need.
- Clothing: Wear appropriate gym clothing and footwear. Jeans, boots and workwear are not allowed. Tie back long hair.
- Fair use: Use one piece of equipment at a time and avoid sitting on machines for long periods, especially when using your phone.
- Return equipment: Put weights and accessories back in their correct storage areas after use.
- Keep areas clear: Fire exits and walkways must remain clear at all times.
- Respect others: Treat staff and other members respectfully. Anti-social or aggressive behaviour may result in membership termination or removal from the facility.
- Exercise safely: Do not exceed your abilities. If you have a medical condition that may affect your ability to exercise safely, seek medical advice before using the gym.
- Feeling unwell: Inform staff immediately if you feel unwell while using the facilities.
- Report issues: Report any damage to equipment or facilities to staff.
- Junior Gym members (aged 11-15): Must be accompanied by an adult who is present in the gym at the same time.
- Personal training: Only licensed personal trainers approved by Warwick Sport may train clients in the gym. Unauthorised trainers will be asked to leave.
