John was a fourth year student studying Maths & Physics. David Leadley, Head of the Department of Physics said:

We are deeply saddened to have learned of the death of John Jose, a fourth year Maths & Physics student. John was a warm, enthusiastic and gifted person who truly enjoyed and appreciated his maths and physics. He came across as a thoroughly likeable young man, offering kindness and good humour to all. He would, I am sure, have made a gifted scientist and had a great future ahead of him.
