Information for students with upcoming examinations

Coronavirus update

In line with government guidance on social distancing and/or associated restrictions, the University is proceeding with plans for a mix of online and physical examinations in January 2022. Your department will keep you updated on your assessments and whether they are on-campus, online, or a mix of both, but we also recommend reading the following update.

Should the situation change, we'll update our Stay Safe website and notify you as soon as possible.

January examinations

The January examination period for centrally scheduled exams takes place between Monday 10 January and Friday 21 January 2022.

Start times

Start times for centrally scheduled on-campus and online examinations have been aligned at 9.30am in the morning and 2pm in the afternoon. For on-campus (in-person) examinations ONLY, that includes reading time and start times have been adjusted accordingly. Please ensure you check your personalised timetable for all details.

If you have approved reasonable adjustments associated with the start or end time of your assessments you will be notified about these separately, as they may vary from the above.

Exams timetable

The latest January 2022 examination timetable for centrally scheduled exams is now available and includes additional information on any recent amendments to the planned timetable, following consultation with academic departments. The timetable will be updated if anything changes.

Personalised timetables (including seat numbers for on-campus exams) are in preparation and will be available shortly. Some students may have a mix of online and on-campus exams, so please check and re-check your timetable carefully to familiarise yourself with your exam schedule, timings, and location.

Please be aware that mitigating circumstances will not be considered if you have an in-person examination on campus and fail to attend without a reasonable explanation and supporting evidence.
