About the programme
Pathways to Banking and Finance is a programme that shall inspire and support students to explore a range of careers in the banking and financial sectors, including accountancy, investment banking, tax and asset management.
It has been developed to widen access to the financial sector following research which showed that 51% of leaders in the profession came from a narrow range of social backgrounds.
The programme aims to raise student aspirations and provides the opportunity to get a taste of studying Business and Economics before they decide what to study at university, and to engage with the financial services sector before choosing what career to pursue.
The Pathways to Banking and Finance programme offers students in Key Stage 4 and 5 an opportunity to find out more about studying a business/economics degree, university life and to find out more about a career in finance.
During 2017/18 the Pathways to Banking & Finance team have worked all year with a cohort of 50 students on the Year 12 programme, and have delivered sessions to over 300 Year 10/11 students in-school and on-campus.
