University Explorers - Impact Highlights
What last year's University Explorers achieved
In spring 2025, 14 Year 6 pupils in care from Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull joined us for four exciting days on campus. They explored university life, met student ambassadors, and built confidence and skills. Here’s what changed—and what pupils, carers, and schools had to say.
Skills growth:
- Confidence improved across all pupils
- Strongest gains in social skills (talking to new people +1.63)
- Teamwork and communication developed through group projects and challenges
Knowledge gains:
- Better understanding of university life (+0.78)
- Increased awareness of courses (+0.64) and campus facilities (+1.00)
- Learned how students study (+1.22) and explored career pathways (+0.93)
Biggest benefit:
Working with and speaking to new people - pupils valued making friends and meeting ambassadors.
