Thursday 23 March, 9:30am-4pm - Humanities Building
Who is the conference for?
The WIE Network Conference is an opportunity for colleagues at Warwick, especially those involved in our Learning Circles, to share ideas around public engagement with staff and students from across the university. We're welcoming anyone at Warwick to join us for the conference so we'd like to offer a range of sessions - some for beginners, and some for those with more experience.
What can I pitch?
We're asking for people to either suggest:
20 minute spotlights - these are a chance to share best practice and present to others on something you're working on or a topic you're passionate about. We'd encourage you to leave some time for questions but the purpose should be about sharing information.
45 minute interactive workshops - these should be more discussion based workshops where you're using the opportunity to not just share a topic, but seek to facilitate a conversation around something.
If you don't want to run a whole session, but you would like to share a project or activity you've done with the attendees we're welcoming people to share posters or interactive stalls over lunch. If you've got something you'd like to run contact .
Will my session definitely go ahead if I propose something?
We want this conference to be led by the people attending so we're not aiming to turn down proposals and we'll try to run as many of the proposed sessions as is sensible (i.e. that there will be enough people to attend them on the day). However if there are sessions where similar themes are being suggested we may come back to you and suggest you work together, or if there is a lot of demand to run activities then we may need to be selective. .
Please submit your session proposal by Friday 24 February
